Isaac Ilyich Levitan (1860–1900) was born in a small Lithuanian town of Kovno Kibart province. His father was a minor employee, the family was large and lived a wealthy life. In the early 70-ies Levitan family moved to Moscow, then died suddenly the mother of Isaac, and after briefly dying and his father.
